This phone is great, has a good camera/zoom, and graphics. Two problems - irregular headphone port & bulky. I would still recommend it though.

I got the Z500a not long ago and have already dropped the thing who knows how many times…but it still works fine. All of its features are awesome and the loud ringtones are clear and very much liked by the friends!!!

I gave the Sony Ericsson Z500 phone 4 stars based on the service quality. I am able to make and receive calls without service cutting in and out. The phone however is a little larger than other flip phones. It would be nice if the screen was a little brighter for outdoors, but overall, I am happy with the phone. It's not the best, but works for everyday use.

Pros: Phone locks into open position. Good sound quailtiy. Good picture quality and has zoom. Outside display is color and can show pics. It's really slick looking and the themes are pretty cool.
Cons: Silent modes vibration is not as strong as I would like. No way to switch from silent to normal mode w/o opening the phone. Unless you want a Sony head set you'll need an adapter. May be a little wide for smaller hands.

This has been a good phone for us. Very rarely do we seem to have reception problems, which is great because I like the fact that this phone does not have a little antenna protruding from the top. Battery life is certainly not phenomenal but it is also not that bad. This phone doesn't get heavy use during a week, and we seem to be charging the battery once each week. Not bad. I would like it if the buttons weren't so flat. Besides these minor issues, I'm really happy with the phone.

My brother has this phone and I want one too! He loves it. It takes great pictures, I know because he sends them to me all the time. Very good sound, easy to use, good battery life. The only negative with this phone is that most headsets have a 2.5 plug and this phone needs a special adapter to use with most of the headsets that are available.
